The challenge
Although this geometric, weather proof, time-lapse camera was fully developed when the team first approached Jaycon; it wasn't completely designed for manufacturability.
What we did
After making small modifications to its design in order to comply with injection molding practices, Jaycon was able to manufacture it with no problems during production. Its multiple-part nature required two different molds to accommodate for two different materials used, ABS and silicone.
The process
We refine the concept and run a full design-for-manufacturing pass so the product can be built reliably at volume.
Mechanical and electrical engineering, enclosures, circuit boards, and firmware, developed in-house.
We build and validate prototypes to confirm fit, function, and manufacturability before production.
Tooling, molding, and assembly at production volume across our US and China facilities.
Retail-ready packaging and full box build, ready to ship.
Services performed
Plastic parts molded at production volume.
Bring us a prototype, a sketch, or just the idea, and we'll take it from design through manufacturing.
